Coastal walks

The UK has some of the most beautiful coastline in the world, with miles of sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, and hidden coves. Here are a few of our favorite coastal walks:

  • The South West Coast Path: This epic walk spans 630 miles along the coast of Devon and Cornwall, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

  • The Isle of Skye Coastal Trail: This 60-mile walk takes you around the coast of the Isle of Skye, Scotland, with breathtaking views of the Cuillin Mountains and the Sound of Sleat.

Castles

The UK is home to some of the most iconic castles in the world. Here are a few of our favorites:

  • Windsor Castle: This historic castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been home to the British royal family for over 900 years.
  • Edinburgh Castle: This iconic castle sits atop a volcanic rock in the heart of Edinburgh, Scotland. It has been a royal residence, a military fortress, and a prison over the centuries.
  • Caernarfon Castle: This imposing castle is located in Caernarfon, Wales. It was built by Edward I of England in the 13th century as a symbol of his conquest of Wales.

Road trips

The UK is a great country to explore by road trip. Here are a few of our favorite routes:

  • The North Coast 500: This epic road trip takes you around the coast of Scotland, from Inverness to Thurso. You'll pass by some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, including mountains, lochs, and beaches.
  • The Cotswolds Way: This scenic road trip takes you through the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, one of the most beautiful regions of England. You'll pass by charming villages, historic churches, and stately homes.
  • The Lake District Loop: This road trip takes you around the Lake District National Park, a stunning region of lakes, mountains, and forests. You'll have plenty of opportunities to stop off for walks, hikes, and boat trips.

City jaunts

  • Edinburgh: The capital of Scotland is a beautiful city with a rich history and vibrant culture. There are plenty of things to see and do in Edinburgh, from exploring the Royal Mile to visiting Edinburgh Castle.
  • Bath: This elegant city is home to some of the finest Georgian architecture in the UK. Bath is also known for its thermal springs, which have been used for bathing and relaxation for centuries.

Hidden gems

The UK is full of hidden gems, waiting to be discovered. Here are a few of our favorites:

  • The Lost Gardens of Heligan: These beautiful gardens are located in Cornwall, England. They were once lost to neglect, but have been lovingly restored in recent years.
  • The Isle of Eigg: This small island in the Inner Hebrides is a haven of peace and tranquility. There are no cars on the island, just miles of unspoiled beaches and stunning coastal scenery.
