A Missionary in Ecuador

In 1949, Elliot and her husband, Jim, moved to Ecuador to serve as missionaries. They worked among the Quichua Indians, and they quickly learned the language and culture.

But despite the challenges, the Elliot's never gave up on their faith. They continued to share the gospel with the Quichua Indians, and they saw many people come to Christ.

The Death of Jim Elliot

In 1956, tragedy struck the Elliot family. Jim Elliot was killed by the Auca Indians, a group of fierce warriors who lived in the Ecuadorian jungle.

Elizabeth Elliot was devastated by her husband's death. But she knew that God had a purpose for it, and she continued to serve as a missionary in Ecuador.

In the years that followed Jim's death, Elizabeth Elliot wrote several books about her experiences. These books have inspired millions of people around the world, and they have helped to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
